Most mongrels like Piddy would end up in the pound and eventually put to sleep; even pedigrees suffer the same fate.
Piddy was a lucky one and so were all of us to have Piddy for almost 16 years.

PS: I watched an episode of Animal Rescue few weeks back. A dog was lucky to be rescued from the backyard of a deserted house. One of his hind legs got to be amputated to save her life. Unfortunately, she was so badly abused and had lost trust in human beings. She was eventually put to sleep.
